2009-2010 meetings DRAFT

DKG theme: Passion for learning: the essence of growth

 

Goal for the Omicron year: each member bring one new person to one meeting between Sept & April.

 

Hostesses provide “gift” for World Fellowship drawing, and snacks (if no meal planned).

 

Please note the projects in November and March – start looking now!

 

September 14, 2009. Dexter Primary School 6:00 Social, 6:30 meeting. Program:  Nancy/Teresa with program plans. Project: new teacher mugs. Hostesses: Darcie, Barb, Sarah.

To bring: about 2 dozen of each, items that would fit in a coffee mug = pencils, pens, highlighters, post-it notes, single-serve coffee/tea/hot choco, asprin, handcleaner, dark chocolate, bandaids. We have mugs. When you buy something for the project, let me and I will cross it off the list.

 

October 5, 2009. Congregational Church, Main Street, Dover 5:30 Social, 6:00 meal - salads and dessert buffet (cost $10). Program, Nancy: “World Fellowship” International girls and Ruby. Hostesses: Gloria, Judy G., Dawn. Handout out tickets for Bangor mall drawing.

 

November 2, 2009. FA. Social 4:30, meeting 5:00. Program, Teresa: “Research” Where can educators get good deals and discounts (Project: develop a regional listing inexpensive teacher buying places – bring your info). Hostesses: Dawn, Jen, Teresa.

 

December 7,  2009 (snow date 14).  Foxcroft Academy Student Center. International girls invited to join us and bring a gift to exchange.  Program at 4:30, brown bag supper meal and meeting starting at 5:45. Program, Rheba/Beth: “Personal Growth” Celebrating friendships. Hostesses: Elizabeth, Judy Lewis, Priscilla. Bring 1-2 dozen cookies for girls make up their own cookie tin (we have the tins) Raffle drawing tickets, book sale donations, wrapped/no tag gift exchange ($5-$10 think about what students might need, in case a student draws your gift), your own meal.

 

No January meeting.

 

February 1, 2010 (snow date 8). FA, 4:30 Social, 5:00 Meeting. Program, Barb: “Professional”, kindergarten welcome registration bags. Hostesses: Jen, Mirna, Beth. Project: put together bags.

 

March 1, 2010 (snow date 8). FA. 4:30 Social, 5:00 meeting. Program, Daina/Nancy:  “Professional”, Local historical society speaker – how to preserve local history. Hostesses: Darcie, Priscilla, Teresa. Bring any information you have on Omicron's charter and long time members . Reminder: election of officers.

 

April 5, 2010 (snow date 12). Garland (or new school). 6:00 Social, 6:30 Meeting. Program, Barb/Darcie: “Professional” Tour of the new school. Hostesses: Sarah, Rheba, Elizabeth.

 

May 3. 2010. Milo HS or ?. 5:30 Social, 6:00 potluck meal. Program, Dawn/Judy Gilbert: “Founders”, celebrate DKG founders. Share Omicron founders information. Hostesses: Judy Lewis, Daina, Nancy.

Initiate officers. Survey/evaluation of Omicron's 09/10 programs
